The module is designed to be used to by local government (LG) officials to enhance their knowledge and skills to audit the LG budgets and programmes from gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) perspective, ensuring that the budgets and programmes not only provide equal benefits and opportunities for women and historically marginalized communities including sexual minorities but also create further incentives to bring them into the development mainstream. The module is also a useful source of knowledge for resource persons and experts working with the LGs to assist them to mainstream GESI in their services and development programmes. The Karnali Province Training Academy (KPTA), an institution responsible for capacity development of provincial and local government officials including elected representatives, is using the module in its training programmes. The module has been digitized to make it more user-friendly.
