New York City - The Kingdom of the Netherlands has contributed EUR 36 million (USD 39 million) towards UNDP's regular "core" resources for 2024. This critical support empowers UNDP to tackle multidimensional poverty, promote good governance, foster the rule of law and champion gender equality globally. The support will also bolster UNDP’s work to prevent crises, as well as enhance climate action and access to sustainable energy. The strong support for flexible funding demonstrates the Netherlands' unwavering commitment to advancing the development agenda and implementing UNDP's Strategic Plan 2022-2025.

UNDP works with governments and local communities to help tackle development challenges, especially amidst global uncertainty and many overlapping crises. The Netherlands-UNDP partnership is resulting in positive outcomes across UNDP's global network. For instance, in Ukraine, UNDP, with support from the Netherlands and other partners, is implementing a mine action initiative to strengthen Ukraine's capacity and use advanced technology to manage mine action operations.

In addition to enabling sustainable development results, regular "core" resources enable UNDP's oversight functions and help ensure that the organization can continue to provide programmes effectively and efficiently while upholding the highest standards of accountability and transparency. UNDP is consistently rated among the most transparent international organizations.

UNDP greatly appreciates the support of the Netherlands and all its partners to create a better world for all.
