UNDP in action 

Integrated development solutions driven by country priorities and UNDP’s new Strategic Plan. 

Our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 introduces a new approach to finding solutions for global challenges, in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. This approach, which builds upon UNDP’s 50 years of expertise across 170 countries, allows us to focus and prioritize where country demands are greatest. By working together with our partners, we aim to build a fairer world envisioned by UN Agenda 2030, with planet and people in balance. 

Our work in Serbia

Dialogue with the government of Serbia resulted in the Country Programme Document for the programme cycle 2021-2025. This document identifies key goals and opportunities for UNDP support to national programmes and priorities, consistent with the development goals endorsed by the Executive Board of UNDP.

Our sectors

Resilience and Environmental protection

Development needs to be not only sustainable – but also resilient to shocks and crisis.
UNDP helps Serbia to cut Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change, reduce , re-use and recycle consumed materials, change its transport patterns, and reduce biodiversity loss. In this way UNDP contributes to Serbia’s sustainable growth.
UNDP also helps Serbia to be ready to face shocks and crisis, when they occur – regardless of their causes, whether they are natural or geological hazards, climate events or human-induced.

Good Governance

Working towards the development of accountable institutions and effective, agile and transparent governance mechanisms to cope with the complex challenges of democracy in the 21st century. Supporting the core capacities for institutional reform and strengthening (such as public financial management, parliamentary scrutiny or public administration reform), strongly emphasizing transparency and public dialogue, and striving to build innovation into mainstream policy.

The Accelerator Labs are designed to close the gap between the current practices of international development in an accelerated pace of change.
Our Lab is part of the world’s largest and fastest learning network around development challenges. We model a new capability to make breakthroughs on the future of development in the face of accelerating strategic risks: inequality, climate change, the 4th industrial revolution, rapid urbanization, new forms of governance, and other complex development challenges.
